Site preparation continues for the Wood Innovation and Design Centre in Prince George. Crews are currently getting ready for the concrete foundation that will be poured in August. Jobs Minister Shirley Bond says construction of the building itself will happen in September.

“Some of that work is already underway because its being done with cross laminated timber,” says Bond, “and that work is taking place not in Prince George and it will be brought to the site.”

Bond says the cross laminated timber is expected to arrive in September. She says substantial construction of the Wood Innovation and Design Centre will be done next summer and be open fall of 2014.
