Congratulations to Candice Nichol, MGA’s newest Associate!

Candice grew up in a few exotic locales – Arizona, Minnesota, and the Virgin Islands. Her parents were salty sailors which provided her with many hours at sea as well as exposure to ship building. As a child she wanted to be a zoologist or a marine biologist or something working with animals.

Her childhood roots and experience with ship building eventually led her to pursue a career in Architecture. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Candice worked on sustainable houses for the underserved at a non-profit design-build. Perhaps it was this experience with innovative building technologies and sustainable building materials that led her to MGA.

Q: What do you enjoy most about being an Architect?

A: Problem solving! I definitely like solving problems.

Q: What’s your favourite flavour of ice cream?

A: Cherry Garcia. No wait pistachio. No definitely Cherry Garcia!

An avid runner and surfer, Candice moved to Vancouver in 2010. In 2014 she joined MGA and has championed projects like T3 and the UBC Baseball Indoor Training Centre. She is a member of the Oregon State University Forest Science Complex and the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club design teams.

When she’s not hard at work you may be lucky enough to catch her grocery shopping at Granville Island or off travelling in faraway places like India! Congratulations Candice!
