Welcome Kim Barnsley

Welcome Kim Barnsley

MGA is happy to announce the addition of Kim Barnsley to our team!
With more than 20 years experience in architecture and design, Kim is joining us as a Senior Associate.

As a kid, Kim’s plan had always been to become a doctor. Things change, though, before starting university she realized she wanted to find a discipline that catered to both her mathematical and creative sides. This led her to the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Architecture where she received both her Bachelor and Master degrees.

From Winnipeg to Vancouver – Kim’s grandparents lived in BC, which provided her with many opportunities to visit the west coast. She describes Vancouver as the perfect place – A metropolitan city that is so accessible to nature. Her love of the outdoors and the big city made Vancouver a logical place for Kim to call home.

Q:What is one of your favourite past times?

A:Yoga! I can totally do a handstand, I can show you!

Q:What excites you the most about working in Gastown?

A:I guess I’ll get to try wearing my hipster hat!

Kim is a mom, a storyteller, and an architect. She is passionate about people, problem solving, and design. She is an active member on a number of committees, including Women of UDI and AIBC’s Community Outreach Committee. She believes in the social purpose of architecture and design that enriches our homes and communities.

Welcome Kim!
