Architizer presented the first ever Revolution in Design Award to our team at a ceremony in Paris last week.

There were around 350 other architects and designers at the Fondation Louis Vuitton from firms all around the world, and the message from us and the other honorees was very much that, as architects, we have the power to change the future, and how important it is to do it now.

The honorees accepting awards were:
Revolution in Design Award – presented to MGA | Michael Green Architecture, accepted by Michael Green
Sustainability in Design Award – presented to Foster + Partners, accepted by Lord Norman Foster
Impact in Design Award – presented to atelier masōmī, accepted by Mariam Kamara and Ramatou Kane
Firm of the Year Award – presented to Neri&Hu Design and Research Office, accepted by Lyndon Neri
Emerging Firm of the Year Award – presented to Studio Toggle, accepted by Hend Almatrouk and Gijo Paul George

Michael Green accepted the award on behalf of our team, and also announced a new Prize during the event, which will award $1 million+ annually to the most innovation climate solutions in the architecture industry:

“Thank you – we are deeply honoured to be here alongside our respected colleagues and friends from around the world. We are so proud of our team and the work that everyone in our industry has done so far on improving the built environment.

But we must also address the fact that this industry produces over 40% of the world’s greenhouse gases, more than any other source. As professionals, and as human beings, it is our responsibility to use this opportunity and our voice to support others, and our planet.

So, we are launching the ARCHITECTURE REVOLUTION PRIZE. This prize will support innovations in practical, repeatable building sciences that address climate change on a global scale. We are not sustainable. It is time for a revolution, and we must all be revolutionaries.”
