The new Ronald McDonald House Willow is moving forward! The Province of BC has committed $20 million to the project, bringing Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon’s capital campaign to over $66 million toward its $100 million goal. The investment means construction can begin.
Willow House will add 75 long-stay suites for families of children being treated near BC Women’s & Children’s Hospital, doubling their capacity from the first house we built with them over a decade ago.
Health Minister Ravi Kahlon and Minister of State Brittny Anderson joined RMHBCY today to mark the milestone.
Congratulations to the RMHBCY team and every family that will call this new house their home during their stay.
“This funding lets us break ground on the next chapter for RMHBCY: 75 more spaces for the 2,000 families who need this house every year to stay during the most difficult time of their lives. We’re honoured to create this next home-away-from-home, and to keep building that story with them.”
