The Evolution of the Revolution of Wood!

Wood construction is not a new concept or technology. Twenty-First Century building innovations combined with changing building codes world-wide are contributing to a wood revolution. “Wood is a renewable, carbon sequestering product that is grown naturally,” says Architect and Author Michael Green. “It provides a healthy indoor environment to work and live in that other building materials can’t. Wood offers an evolving medium that is both complex and a new frontier for design. In many respects we are taking knowledge that disappeared a century ago and revitalizing the next century of building more sustainably.”

Together with fellow Architect and Author, Jim Taggart, Green has co-authored the aptly titled “Tall Wood Buildings” book, published by Birkhåuser in English and German. The publication explains the typical construction types such as panel systems, frame and hybrid systems. The book includes 13 case studies that celebrate the beauty and specification/detail of wood buildings around the world.
