OTTAWA AIRPORT PHASE 2

OTTAWA AIRPORT PHASE 2

Ottawa, Ontario

Michael led the design of Ottawa Airport Phase 2 as Project Principal at his predecessor firm. In this second phase of the airport’s expansion, a heavy timber structure was introduced which was reclaimed from a demolished WWII aircraft hangar previously on the airport property. The wood structure complements the existing building palette and connects the building to Ottawa’s logging heritage and the airport’s history. This solution provides simplicty, warmth and the linkage necessary to create something wonderful and unique for our Nation’s capital.

The local Architect of Record for Phase II was JL Richards.
